I wanted to reblog this to spread something really quickly. If you are in the LBGTQ community, I think we all know of someone named Sophie. She’s a life ruiner. She ruins lives. No, but seriously, she might be capable of these things. If you are on Tumblr, don’t give out your address, or your last name really. If you come in contact with this Sophie, regardless if she is on Anon, or off of Anon, do not go on her page. One of the reasons some people don’t is that she might have a tracker to get where you live. I think I have actually heard where she sends parent’s letters for this reaction. If she sends you messages, or attempts to interact with her, ignore it. You won’t win, or change her perspective. She does this on purpose, so the best thing is to let it go. Do not give her the power. By posting something, replying, going on her page to argue with her does nothing. I just wanted to let people know.
Also, it is in no one’s place to come out FOR anyone. Despite if you think it is, it will never be your place. It does not matter if you are a best friend, a sibling, an aunt, etc. They will come out when they are ready. One of the worst things that can happen because of this situation is that someone could commit suicide because things went horribly wrong. There are reasons people do not come out, or never do come out to certain people. Respect other people’s privacy. It is not your business, or job, to open your mouth FOR them.
Regardless of the fact that Tumblr may be a safe haven for some people, there are still dangers that occur on here.
